Entrance to St. Mary's Harrow on the Hill Church

Our Church

St Mary’s Harrow on the Hill is a busy and friendly church with a focus on Eucharistic worship, fellowship and community. Everyone is welcome and feels at home. We worship in the “central church” tradition with a high calibre of music, but the congregation also enjoys innovative worship. We have a committed congregation with 170 people on the electoral roll and about 50–70 worshippers at the main 10.30am service each Sunday. We have a steady flow of new members and a good mix of all ages.

The Vicar We Are Seeking

We seek a pastoral priest who is comfortable with our more traditional style of worship. We are looking for someone who will help us to grow our faith, with the ability to apply the Bible and its messages to modern life in an open-minded way.

The priest should be a strong leader and decision-maker who reliably delivers on commitments and can recognise, encourage and utilise the talents and strengths within the congregation. The split role will need someone with an organised and pragmatic approach to balancing the needs of the church and Harrow School.

What St. Mary's Church and Harrow School Can Offer

  • An opportunity to develop this role as joint parish priest and Harrow School Chaplain and have a positive impact on many lives, young and old alike.

  • Assistance from two associate priests.

  • An engaged and enthusiastic congregation, and volunteers with a wide range of skills and including a strong musical heritage.

  • A friendly and diverse community with a mix of young and old, of tradition and energy.

  • Opportunities, as borough church, for wider involvement in leadership in faith, worship and prayer.

  • A recently refurbished vicarage, close to London with excellent public transport and road links.
